The KFEZ 20th Anniversary Commemorative Forum (2023 Global Business Frontier Forum) will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel, both in an online and offline hybrid format, under the theme of “Leap to an Innovative Ecosystem City of Korea.”
This year’s KFEZ 20th Anniversary Commemorative Forum (2023 Global Business Frontier Forum) is an international forum organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Korean Free Economic Zones (KFEZ).
The Korean Free Economic Zones (KFEZ) refer to special economic zones aimed at actively attracting foreign investment by improving the business environment and living conditions for foreign-invested enterprises, ensuring the autonomy of economic activities for companies through various regulatory relaxations, and providing incentives. A total of nine KFEZs have been established and operated, starting with Incheon in 2003, and including Busan-Jinhae, Gwangyang Bay Area, Gyeonggi-do, Daegu - Gyeongsangbuk-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, East Coast Area, Gwangju, and Ulsan.
Korean Free Economic Zones (KFEZ), striving to become the global epicenter for business where capital and information from around the world converge, and dedicated to offering the best possible environment for global companies, extend an invitation to all to commemorate KFEZ’s 20th anniversary and reflect on our journey towards defining the recipe for business success. Now is the moment for us to collectively ponder as KFEZ evolves from merely attracting companies to becoming a city of open innovation, heralding a new era of progress.
Through this international forum, with the participation of government representatives (including the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and key foreign countries), foreign economic special zone authorities, and experts, we aim to discuss the direction of “Leap to an Innovative Ecosystem City,” share the “DNA of Future Cities,” and present future development directions, including global collaboration networks and emerging technologies.
We invite you to the international forum commemorating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Korean Free Economic Zones, where the future of the new global innovation ecosystem will unfold.
Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang Moon-kyu
Commissioner of Incheon Free Economic Zone Kim Jinyong
